Vote For Wendy Maness

My Bio

My City Council Story Clinton is more than a place I serve. It’s my home. My family has called Clinton home for more than 25 years. I raised my children here, and today they continue to live and work in the community that shaped our family. I ran for City Council because I believed I could make a meaningful difference in Clinton. When I was elected in 2022, I made a commitment to work hard, listen to the people I represent, protect taxpayer dollars, and make thoughtful decisions about Clinton’s future. Over the past four years, I have worked with my fellow Council members, city staff, and community partners to strengthen Clinton while maintaining responsible city finances. We have balanced our budget without raising property taxes, completed the payoff of general government debt, invested in our city employees and first responders, and continued supporting our schools. We have also made significant investments throughout Clinton, including improvements to streets, sidewalks, water and sewer infrastructure, parks and recreation, traffic safety, and Historic Downtown Clinton. These investments are about more than individual projects. They are about maintaining the infrastructure and quality of life that allow our community to grow responsibly. Serving on City Council has reinforced my belief that effective local government requires preparation, accountability, and a willingness to listen. Every decision we make should consider both the needs of residents today and the long-term impact on Clinton. During my time on Council, I earned my Master of Public Administration and expanded my work with municipal leaders across Tennessee through MTAS PULSE Leadership and the Tennessee Municipal League. Those experiences have strengthened my understanding of local government and given me opportunities to bring knowledge and ideas from across Tennessee back to Clinton. I am proud of the progress we have made, but I also know there is more work ahead. My commitment remains the same: responsible leadership, careful planning, and putting the people of Clinton first. It is a privilege to serve the city I call home.

My Key Issues

Responsible growth and long-term planning:

Policies that make sure infrastructure, neighborhoods, traffic, utilities, and city services keep pace as Clinton grows.

Government accountability and technology

Clear policies governing technologies used by the city, particularly public-safety technology, with appropriate privacy protections, oversight, access controls, and accountability.

Government transparency and accountability:

Look for practical ways to make city decisions, policies, spending, and public information easier for residents to understand and access.
